Jumanji

Disclaimer: This post is not to offend anyone. Rather just raising the obvious facts

I'm in shock. To think he would choose to be mauled by tigers. The irony - he's a Malaysian.

There were reports of him at the crocodile enclosure, throwing cards [presumably identity cards] into the pond. Why didn't he jump there and let the crocodiles eat him up? Instead, he chose the white tiger enclosure.

Perhaps, he wanted to die being eaten by a rare beast. Perhaps he loved cats. Perhaps he thought nobody could save him there. Though there is no denying that he chose to be mauled by tigers.

Tigers are on the Malaysian coat of arms. Obviously we are associated with lions. Thus, is his death a final act of subconscious patriotism?

I leave you with that question to ponder.

In memory of Nordin Bin Montong, the man who was mauled by white tigers at the Singapore Zoo. RIP, I'm sure you'll be missed by friends and families alike.

The Merelion is back! [tell me this is the first time using that as a title..]

And we are back! I mean, I. There's no 'we'. Anyway, today marks the end of the GCE 'O' Level examinations, and life never felt so good. Why? Because everyday you'll wake up and you think - 'What should I do today?' and then you'll realise 'eat, shit, sleep, play.'

Anyhow, I'd think the reports on an non-Chinese PM in the light of Barack Obama's win is unnecessary. It's undermining the Pledge! Why must the local newspaper even doubt the people of Singapore, surely these surveys mean nothing at all. You tell me, who thought America would elect a non-white president? These 'reports' are totally bull. We're living in the 21st century!

Then so, 'Why isn't there a non-Chinese PM?' Simple. The Chinese are the majority race in Singapore. There is a higher chance of a Chinese person than any of the minorities to stand up and lead. Sure, like the ministers said, there will be a non-Chinese PM in the near future. But for now, no? I disagree. It's just about someone from the minority races standing up to lead. If they're good enough, then they'll lead. Our system is based on democracy, those who are talented and hardworking will get the rewards. I'm sure you can't disagree with the PMs chosen, because Singapore had made it through time and time again. Maybe there's some government secret hierarchy which the public is not made aware of. Maybe we are a racist country after all... if you believe the papers.

I know I stated in my disclaimer that I would not touch on sensitive topics. The reports made, for me, is totally absurd. I have to give a voice as well, among others, and say 'Hey what the hell are you talking about?' Perhaps The New Paper was just trying to fill the front pages, hence the reports.
